April 2024 - Tony Circelli, Head of Recycling Victoria, has issued existing operator licences to Recovered Energy Laverton Pty Ltd to operate thermal waste to energy facilities.
Monash City Council agrees to send waste
November 2023 - Monash Council has taken a significant step to reduce emissions associated with waste Council has contracted Recovered Energy Laverton to divert waste into electricity through a purpose-built facility to be constructed at Laverton.
Melton City Council, first to supply waste
EPA Development Licence Issued
February 2022 - Recovered Energy Laverton will build an advanced waste processing facility that will convert household waste into electricity and help manage waste costs for ratepayers within the Melton City Council.
January 2020 - On 27 June 2019, Recovered Energy Australia Pty Ltd (REA) submitted a final works approval application to EPA. The application was approved on 21 January 2020.
Moonee Valley Council commits to WtE
December 2023 - Moonee Valley will now be one of three Councils (alongside Monash and Melton) that will send waste that would otherwise go to landfill to a brand new, cutting-edge ‘gasification’ plant.
